Mike Short

Chief Executive

Mike has extensive experience of the “client side” of industry, with his 40-year career having spanned seven countries on three continents. His roles have all required Mike to recruit, train and develop top flight Executives and their supporting teams.

His industry focus has been largely in businesses with extensive and complex Supply Chains, including beverages and brewing; nuclear and conventional power generation and project management. He has recently headed up the Global Supply Chain Integration Project for a FTSE Top 10 Company.

He has held a variety of global enterprise and mid-cap company senior executive positions from Chairman and CEO of $1bn+ enterprises to functional specialist, including Technical, Operations and Commercial Director roles, with experience gained across most of the key disciplines of a large corporation.

As Consultant, he headed up the evolution of a globally integrated innovation and new product development programme in the beverage industry. Also as Interim Global Corporate Affairs Director of a FTSE top 10 company he led the implementation of a global responsibility and sustainability strategy.

Mike is a founder member of the Prague Leadership Institute, established with a Vision of creating the centre of excellence for the development of high performance 21st century leaders.  PLI, under the leadership by Pepper de Callier, recently received the AI Media Corporate Vision Award as the top firm in the field of Corporate Leadership Coaching in Europe.

Mike is a Mechanical Engineer and Chartered Engineer in the UK, with post graduate qualifications in nuclear power and in manufacturing; He is a Founder Member of the Prague Leadership Institute with its charter to help Boards of Directors in their efforts to work together and build unity as a close knit and highly effective leadership team.

Mike ascribes his business success to an ability to attract the right people, to build effective teams and to create the strategic and operational environment for success.

Pierre Fourie

Director of Research

Pierre is a successful Managing Director and a seasoned HR professional with experience across EMEA in matrix organisations and both the supply and demand side of executive talent sourcing.

Previous experience as a senior director in international human resources for two major FMCG businesses (blue chip multinational brewing and tobacco companies)

Focusing on assignments at all levels including CEO, GM and top team

Considerable success filling key international roles in order to resource the talent pipeline for blue chip multinational companies throughout the UK, Europe, Africa, the Middle East, Eastern Europe and Asia.

Pepper de Callier

Chair of the Mentys Ltd. Advisory Board

Columnist and author, Pepper de Callier has devoted his career to understanding, counselling and coaching leaders globally. Formerly a partner at two of the most respected executive search and consulting firms in the world, Spencer Stuart and Heidrick & Struggles, Pepper has mentored and counselled Boards of Directors and Executives from many global corporations in Asia, North America, and Europe.

Pepper is also deeply involved in the development of future leaders. He is a Founder and Member of the Supervisory Board of Aspen Institute Prague. He assisted in the design and launch of, as well as being a mentor in, the Odyssey Program for the Vodafone Foundation, which is a highly selective mentoring program for women executives

His books include the Common Sense Wisdom Trilogy and he is a regular columnist, having produced more than 300 works on leadership.

Jane Scott-Jackson

Director Finance and Administration

A qualified and insightful therapist, Jane has successfully owned and built small specialist retail operations in culture rich societies where the loyalty and competence of a small staff, market knowledge and empathetic customer engagement defined business success.

Her success in her field has depended on her ability to gauge the integrity and competence of staff to join her small team of interdependent operators and executives and to mould sometimes relatively unsophisticated staff members into a coherent and competent team. She brings a high degree of insight to the search and interview processes employed by Mentys.
